Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced that the state will issue a refund check to families.
Lamont said families can apply for a $250 state tax refund per child.

Message from the Governor
“In addition to making groundbreaking investments in child care, crime prevention, environmental protection and care for the most vulnerable, the budget we have just passed provides specifically targeted relief for low- and middle-income families with children“, Governor Lamont said.
“The period of application of this discount will take place on the the next weeksthe discounts being paid at the end of August, just in time for the next school year.”
“I strongly urge all eligible connecticut families to submit a request so that the rebate can be sent to you without delay.”
Who Can Claim the 2022 Connecticut Child Tax Rebate?
Connecticut residents who claimed at least a dependent child under the age of 18 on their federal tax returns are eligible under several guidelines.

If you have not received or have not received notice from the ministry and would like to claim the Tax rebate of $250 per child (maximum of three), eligible families must have a limited income threshold.
– File single or married separately: $100,000 or less
– Head of household: $169,000 or less
– Married joint deposit: $200,000 or less
